Charles Charlie Edward Bourgeois

February 20, 1954 - December 25, 2016

Charles Edward Bourgeois

Feb.20, 1954 – Dec.25, 2016

Charlie passed away peacefully on Christmas morning after a six month battle with Cancer. He fought a good fight with unwavering optimism. He will be forever missed and remembered as Dad, (sometimes as “Yoda”), Grandpa, and C.B.

Charlie spent most of his life in the transport industry making many lifelong friends along the way. While his kids were growing up he became involved in Minor hockey over the past several years enjoyed coffee with “the other old boys” on weekend mornings. Charlie was always available to lend a helping hand to whoever needed it.

Charlie is survived by his wife and best friend of 40 years, Karla, sons Scott (Lindsey) and Ryan, daughters Nicole (Karl) and Shannon (Mike). Grandchildren: James, Lauren, Amelia, Madelyn and Bethany, his brother Frank and sisters Rosemary, Janice and Jeanette, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Marty and his parents, Louis and Margaret.

Charlie believed that in life, success should not be measured by monetary wealth or material belongings but rather by the people you can count on as friends, the children you raise to be well adjusted, happy adults and the best reward in life was Grandchildren. Charlie left us too soon, but, left this life a very successful man.

CB, we will love you forever and “see you in a bit”

There will be no funeral by request. There will be a memorial to celebrate Charlie in the summer.

As an expression of sympathy donations in Charlie’s name are greatly appreciated to the Canadian Cancer Society, 565 10th Avenue West, Vancouver, BC V5Z 9Z9.
