Joseph Conrad Rosa (Rositta), 73, passed away Wednesday, September 2nd, 2015 in his home after a long battle with kidney failure.
Rositta was born in Moncton, New Brunswick, and was the son of Albert and Flossie Rosa, and brother to Rochelle Olsen. He lived in many different cities within Canada, but he resided in Nelson, BC for the last 15 years of his life. He was a well-known member of community living that was overseen by the Nelson C.A.R.E.S. Society. He was a proud supporter of the Kootenay Pride Parade in Nelson. He had a love for animals and music – specifically, female vocalists (he was a long-time fan of Cher). Rositta was a social being, and took pleasure in gatherings for special occasions.
Rositta will be deeply missed by all staff who have worked with him over the years, as well as his housemates, Jim and Donna.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, October 1stat Thompson Funeral Home – 613 Ward St, Nelson, BC.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation or the BCSPCA.
