Darryl Locksley Lundy

June 15, 1964 - March 30, 2014

Darryl Locksley Lundy

June 15, 1964- March 30, 2014

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Son, Brother and Dad, Darryl on Sunday March 30th.

Darryl was born June 15, 1964 and raised in Saskatoon and also spent many years enjoying Candle Lake at the cottage with family and friends.

Darryl is survived by his parents Lock and Gayle Lundy of Victoria, his beloved sons James and Evan and the mother of his children Laura Lundy, brother Darin(Anna), sisters Brenda(David)Smith, Collette(David)Williams, Michelle(Nick)Lundy-Baggs and Jacqueline Rimmer. He is survived by nieces and nephews: Tiffany, Danielle, Morgan, Talen, Jakob, Bennett, Adam, Jai, Benjamin, Ryan, Preeya, Heidi, Willow, Locksley, and many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins and Friends.

Darryl pursued post secondary education in Victoria in the IT field and later moved to the Nelson area where he lived for the last 20 years. He ran his own IT business in Nelson for many years where he created many long lasting friendships.

Darryl was a loving father to James and Evan, and cherished every moment he spent with them from throwing footballs in the park to swimming, skating and fishing. He was incredibly proud of his boys and the fine young men they were becoming.  Darryl had an infectious sense of humor lighting up a room and often known for his joking ways. He loved many sports and particularly was an avid Saskatchewan Roughrider fan.

Darryl, you are loved by all and will live on forever in all our hearts. Be at peace…

Hey Laura; Sorry to hear Darryl passed. That is absolutely aweful. We didn’t talk much (After I finished working for him) but please let me know what happened, and please, please let me know if I can do anything.

My thoughts are with you and the kids.

Darryl was a dear friend and also a trusted employee when he worked for me. He was always easy to get a long with, positive and all of the customers and employees loved him. Some of my best times was not only working with him but also the free time we had together working out at the gym. I don’t know what happened and that makes it even harder for me but I am very sad that he is gone. The world was truly a better place because he was here and he brought a lot of joy and happiness to the people of the Kootenay’s. God Bless your family and your sons have truly lost a great man and father.

From: Cyndi Funk Wharton
Relation: 1st Cousin

I am so heartbroken by the news of Darryl’s passing and my heart goes out to the whole family at this terribly sad time. As Darryl’s older cousin, I remember him most from summers at Candle Lake and what a fun little kid he was. He was always such a character, full of life and laughter. A real happy fellow who loved pulling practical jokes on his older siblings and cousins! His laugh was infectious! One warm memory of Darryl was the summer I was 15 and he was about 8 and he walked over to me on the beach and dropped a bag of cookies on my lap and said, ” just a sec,” and he ran all the way back to the cabin and came running back breathlessly with 2 half spilled glasses of milk for us! He was such a gentle hearted little guy. We sat on the beach together eating broken cookies, people watching and just taking in our summer surroundings. Darryl had a heart as wide as the moon and even though I hadn’t seen him much in recent years, I can only imagine he grew up to be a wonderful man and an amazing dad to his own boys. I am totally heartbroken for you Auntie Gayle, Uncle Lock, Brenda, Collette, Darin, Michelle and Jacky. Please know that I am holding you all close in my heart. Love you all. xoxo
