Dominic Mickey Silvio Maglio

April 16, 1929 - December 25, 2016

Tribute

Dominic (Mickey),

Silvio Maglio

It is with deep sadness

that we announce the sudden

and peaceful passing of our dear beloved father,

husband, grandfather, uncle and friend on

Christmas Day at Kootenay Lake Hospital. For

a brief time his family was able to see the funny,

charming and gracious man that we love so dearly.

He leaves behind his wife Colleen of 62 years,

his daughter Maureen (Gordon-children Jason,

Jena, Kayla and Coleman), son Terry (Denisedaughters

Jalessa, Mariah and Carlie), brother-inlaw

Norm Hyssop from Penticton, cousins, many

nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of

Mickey’s life will be in the Spring time with a

specific date to be announced.

We would like to express a sincere thank you

and gratitude to the nurses and doctors both in

the ER and on the third floor. A special thank you

to Dr. Kevin McKechnie for gentle care with dad

in his final years.

As an expression of sympathy donations in

Mickey’s name are greatly appreciated to the British

Columbia Alzheimer Society www.alzheimer.ca or

Ph 1-800-667-3742.

Dear Colleen, I am very sorry to hear of Mickey’s passing. What a loss that will be! This will be a difficult passage for you but God’s love will see you through. I sincerely sympathize with you.
I know you and Mickey mostly through church connections. The last time I saw Mickey was at Mass at Lakeview Village. You were not with him that time. We were seated not far from each other and we shared a warm sign of peace. I think he knew who I was. He was that time as always dressed so very well and was very much his usual gentleman. You must have been very proud of him.
I am praying for you and the family, Warmly, Mathilde

Sending heart felt condolences to Moe and all the Family, at this time. I had the pleasure of “coffees” with Colleen and Mickey at LLV in the last year. We had lovely visits, also with my dear friend Phyllis. My husband Ward is their Chef. Love from the Nelsons
