Florence May (Robinson) Myers
1921 – 2020
Florence May (Robinson) Myers passed away on January 20, 2020, at Mountain Lakes Seniors Community in Nelson. Born in Manchester, England in 1921, she moved to Niagara Falls, Ontario in 1948, where she worked as a research chemist. There, she met Orvil Myers, and they were married in 1949. They lived for a few years in Gore Bay, Manitoulin Island, then moved to Oakville, Ontario where they lived for 50 years. Florence was a portrait photographer, specializing in weddings, children and families. She and Orvil moved to the Kootenays in 2008, in order to be closer to their daughter Heather. They lived in Thrums for a couple of years, then at Lakeview Village in Nelson, then moved to MLSC when health issues became more pressing. Many thanks to Pat Vaughan and to the staff of Mountain Lakes Seniors Community for their compassionate care. A Celebration of her Life will be held on her birthday, April 19th. Contact Heather for details. You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence.

Dear Heather, I am so sorry to hear that your Mom has passed away. My Mom has now gone up to Mtn. Lakes and it would have been nice for them to have reunited. Its never an easy even though we may feel its for the best. Wanted you to know we are thinking of you.

Relation: Heather and I were good friends in Oakville, Ontario
Heather, I’m so sorry to hear of your mother’s passing, but what a blessing that you had her for so many years. By a coincidence, the portrait your mother made of my mother, father and me stands on my piano and I have told my children about that day and how Saxon was a part of it.
You have my sincere condolences.

From: Sarah Taylor
Relation: Friends.
Heather, I was so sorry to hear of your mother’s passing, as well as the loss of your father last year. Your parents were like family to me, I loved them both dearly, and will never forget their kindnesses that they showed me here in Oakville. They were wonderful people, and a life very well lived. Sending love and my sincere condolences.

We have very beautiful family photos on our walls that we look at every day. These were taken by Florence over the years. It was a pleasure to know Florence as a kind and gracious neighbour. Our family would like to express our condolences to you.
