Gus Adams

May 27, 1935 - September 1, 2012

Sadly we say goodbye to a wonderful man, Gus Adams. A loving husband to Darlene and father to Greg, Tracey, Jamie, Jeffery, and Gus Jr.
He is survived by his wife, children, and many grandchildren.
He was known and loved by so many people and his passion for life touched everyone. We will all cherish and hold closely our many happy memories.
He will never be forgotten.
As an expression of sympathy, donations to Nelson’s Friends of the Family in Gus’s name would be appreciated.

Thompson Funeral Service Ltd. Staff send our condolences to family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

From: Bruce Wack
Relation: Goaltender Coach. Great guy.

Gus touched my life when I was 10 years old and wanting to be a very good goaltender. Over the years he was a good teacher for me. I never did make it to the “big league”. But nothing was lost on me in his wisdom. I have taken his words and applied them to my life and feel like I am in the big league. I miss the smell of his cigar.

Heart felt thoughts to the family.

From: Paul & lynn Dashkewytch
Relation: Friend

We have nothing but fond and lasting memories of our time in the Nelson area and developing the relationships that last a life time with some of our favorite people Gus being one of them. Gus touched so many people including ourselves. It was a pleasure. Stories: I dont have enough space. I know Gus will be up in the heavens looking to join a foresome and I know the perfect pairing just bring your handicap card. All the Best to everyone and hopefully someday we can revisit the Nelson Area. Love Paul & Lynn Dashkewytch

From: Cheryl Stubbe (Doughty)
Relation: boss friend

I am not even sure where to start with the amount of memories and tears flooding my heart at this moment. How many times he burned me with that hot coffee spoon I cannot begin to count, his late night visits to the kitchen for his greek hot crazy dishes. him being locked in the cooler afraid for his life My Mom Virginia would have so many more stories to tell if she were her. My very heartfelt condolence’s to all the Adams family and who knows maybe I can arrange my schedule to get there on Sunday. I can smell that cigar right now Gus

From: John McKeachie
Relation: friend

I hardly know where to start to say how sad I am about the loss of one of the greatest friends I’ve ever met. And under the heading of small worlds, to think my old UVic alum Eric Beauchamp was not only his partner, but also now with Gus, the mind boggles at that reunion! From GREAT SAVES on the stage at golf tournaments, to the massive garlics in his garden, laughs in the banquet room, beers in the pub, swims in the lake, cheers at the rink, squeeky floors outside my room, at least I can smile at the memories. And the Jamie stories! You know I would love to be there Sunday Greg, but not sure I can…so tell your Mom, brothers and sister I am and will be thinking of you all. Sincerely, McKeach
