Isabel Doris Trevelyyan Wassick

May 1, 1928 - March 14, 2017

It is with heavy hearts we let mom go.

Mom was born in Invermere to Capt.G.H.C. and Violet Coleman (nee Roberts) the youngest of four children and the only daughter. She was much loved by her older brothers and related many fond memories of their kindnesses towards her.

Her schooling was in Cranbrook until Mom and our grandmother moved to Nelson. Here Mom attended high school and where she met our Dad, Rich. They were married in 1948.

Moms first job during high school was at the pharmacy (later Mayo Pharmacy) followed by secretary at Crescent Valley School and later as a clerk in the Government Agents office in Kaslo. Mom always enjoyed her work.

We spent many pleasant summers at Christina Lake at the cabin where Mom taught us to swim. We generally went at the end of June and stayed till the last possible moment before returning to Bonnington Falls and school in September. Dad would drive out for week ends. We were so lucky.

Later they gave up Christina Lake and started to build the “log house” at Trout Lake. We had some time there helping but is was a life long project for Mom and Dad. Again, more fun.

They were able to spend more time in Trout in their retirement years before Dad could no longer drive.

Mom had many talents including painting, writing and was very clever in creating meaningful gifts but best of all she was organized and thorough with everything she did. We will miss her terribly. She was a long-time member of Eastern Star.

Predeceased by her parents, brothers, Barrington, Eric and Henry and beloved husband, Richard. She is survived by her children, Connie, Richard, Eric(Lynne), Duncan(Virginia), grandchildren, Rick (Lori), Cassie, Nicholas (Brenda), Dalton, Mac and Madison, great grandchildren Coleton and Merissa Dawson. Sisters in law, Beryl Coleman (Grand Forks) and Irene Burns (Nelson). Her cousin June Feser (Vernon, BC) and many nieces and nephews.
