Justin James J.J. Klassen

April 23, 1989 - August 13, 2013

J.J. was born on St. George’s Day April 23, 1989 in Nelson, British Columbia. He was raised on the North Shore of Kootenay Lake’s West Arm. He attended the Nelson Waldorf School, Trafalgar, and L.V. Rogers Secondary School. Following high school he went on to attain his Paramedic Certification at the Justice Institute of British Columbia in Victoria, BC. After graduation J.J. returned to his hometown and began his chosen career as a Paramedic with Nelson’s BC Ambulance Service.

Justin James loved life; plants, animals, birds people and places. Born and bred in the West Kootenay Mountains he enjoyed all the area has to offer; hockey, skiing, hiking, fishing, tubing and boating. He could plant a garden, fix a car, shingle a roof, paddle a canoe, and fell a mature Douglas Fir.

Well travelled, he’d been to Europe, Mexico, South Africa, and South East Asia. He had travelled the highways from Florida to the Yukon, from California to Alaska, from Bella Coola to Victoria. He had gone swimming in the Atlantic, Pacific, Indian and Arctic Oceans.

J.J. leaves behind his dear Sister Jaime, his Mother Lynn and Father Frank; Uncle Glenn; Auntie Margaret, uncle Earl, and Cousins Jessie and Joe; Uncle John, Auntie Alma and Cousin John; Uncle Peter and Auntie Barbara, as well as his many, many friends.
He was predeceased by his grandparents.

The passing of J.J has come as such a shock. Too young 😥I remember meeting J.J about 10 years ago when he would come with his sister Jamie to catch the school bus. Many times he’d have his hockey & I’d hear him doing slap shots in his back yard. He got older and came by sometimes for a visit, always talking about his amazing trips with his fantastic friends & family. My condolences to his family & prayers for healing too. J.J keep on tracking the world & rest in peace. You will be missed.

Dear Frank, Lynn and family. My thoughts are with you at this time of loss. Though his time was short you raised Justin to make the most of it and that is both a tremendous accomplishment and a great blessing. May time heal.
