1932 – 2017
Lily Olga Margquardt (Hlushko) was born August 1, 1932 in Star (near Lamont), Alberta, Canada. Olga met her husband, Philip Arthur Marquardt, while they attended Drumheller High School together. They were married on October 28th, 1950 in Edmonton, Alberta. Thereafter is our family of 32 descendants, viz., 7 children – Peggy Diane (D.R. deceased), Richard Philip (Ft. St. James), Randolph Scott (Mesa, Arz), Douglas Brian (Nelson – deceased), David Bruce (Maple Ridge), Darrell William (Calgary), Neil Arthur (Pitt Meadows). 10 Grand children – Dawn, Raymond, Jason, Dennis, Tanya, David Jr., Mathew, Valerie, Kelly and Zane. 14 Great grand Children – Nickalas, Danielle, Christina, Daniel, Tyson, Justin, David, Taylor, Brayden, Keynnan, Gage, Kate, Abby and Grace. 1 Great great grandchild – Kaylee.
Some of Lily’s interests were accounting, home maker, gardening, religion, serious contesting, bowling, treasure hunting, darts, ping pong, cards, genealogy (including internet research), history, crossword puzzles. Her travels included 19 world tours and most of North America. However, the most interesting and loving times in her life were spent with her children and adventurous and caring husband, Philip.
As requested by Lily cremation is to take place with no service. Thompson Funeral Service has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
