It is with sadness that I read of Marilyn’s passing. Marilyn and I graduated from SJHS in 1968 and I spoke to her about attending our 50th reunion in 2018. It was then I learnt of her battle with cancer. Marilyn was a bright, witty and charming young woman and we actually dated a couple of times before we realized her Mom, Marjorie and my Dad, Bob were related. We both got a huge laugh out of that. My condolences to her family.

I am so saddened by this news. Marilyn and I started grade 1 together at Winter St. School where her father was Principal. We went to school together for 12 years, attended parties together and became friends. We even took a bus trip together to visit her older sister, Joan in Massachusetts one summer. I was bus sick the whole way down but we managed to have fun after we arrived. I vaguely remember attending her wedding years later. It is sad losing someone who was part of your childhood. She had a beautiful smile!
My sincerest condolences to her family.

Marilyn and I became childhood friends in grade two while attending Winter Street School where her father was the principal. At that time she was taking ballet lessons and I remember being impressed with her confident dance moves. I also remember skating with Marilyn at Lily Lake. We remained friendly throughout our school years and while attending high school were thrilled to make the Cheerleading Team! That relationship continued at Mount Allison University. I think that Marilyn, Cathy Cohen (her roommate) Carol Clark and I probably ate dinner together every night during our first two years in the university dining hall. One time I told Marilyn that if I ever had a daughter I would choose the name Tara. When Marilyn’s daughter was born she called me and asked if it was okay if she used that name.
The last time I spoke with Marilyn was three years ago prior to our 50th high school reunion. We laughed and reminisced about our Saint John and Mount A days. I will remember Marilyn as a fun loving, sweet natured and gentle person.
My sincere condolences to Marilyn’s family.

I felt such sadness reading that Marilyn had passed. We were friends in junior high school and high school becoming roommates our first year at Mt. Allison University. We had good times together. I remember her sweet smile, her laugh and gentle ways. I thought of her often over the years. My condolences to Marilyn’s family and friends.

I was so sad to hear about Marilyn’s passing. It brought back so many good memories of all the times we “hung out” together back in school. My thoughts are with her children and her family.
