September 12, 1918 - November 18, 2015
Tribute
Marjorie was born in Saskatchewan to Clara and Edward Houde. Marjorie had 3 brothers; Harvey, Chet, and Leo. She moved to Nelson in 1945 where she resided for over 70 years. She worked first in the old Nelson Hospital, and when the new one opened she became a medical lab technician for many years. Marjorie had many talents and hobbies; painting, wood carving, sewing, knitting, crocheting and cooking just to name a few. She got her drivers licence at 65 years old, and made quite a few road trips to make up for the years without a licence. She enjoyed the outdoors and loved animals. Marjorie attended mass regularly at the Cathedral of Mary Immaculate for many years. When she could no longer attend, her friend Joyce was kind enough to bring communion to her home. Marjorie volunteered her services to wash and press the altar linens, she helped with different duties in the church and enjoyed it very much. Pre-deceased by her husband George Raymond and her daughter Betty Ann. Also her Grandson Laurence. Survived by so Wayne (Faye), numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren The family would like to extend a BIG THANK-YOU to the staff at Mountain Lake. Thanks to Dr. Janz, and to Dr. Murray for years with Marjorie.

Relation: Met Marjorie at Mountain Lakes.
I just want to offer Marjorie’s family my condolences on her passing. I got to meet and get to know Marjorie a little bit while visiting at Mountain Lakes. What a lovely woman. Such a talented, articulate and funny woman. Marjorie used to have this saying. Which she would often say when I would ask her how she is doing.
Enjoy yourself, it’s later than you think
Enjoy yourself, while you’re still in the pink.
She would also like to talk about her little dog Prince Tao. Which was one of her paintings that she did.
Rest in peace Marjorie.
