In loving memory of Monte Herbert Lust
December 29, 1946 – April 22, 2022
Monte was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta, and sadly passed away at Kootenay Lake Hospital in Nelson, BC, at the age of 75 after a two-year cancer diagnosis. Thank you to Dr. Malpass, Dr. Tuvel, Dr. MacKay, and the nursing staff for your care.
Monte grew up on Granite Road in Nelson with sister Michelle, and his parents Herb and Barbara Lust. Monte was a very skilled faller and skidder operator. At age 50 he built a sawmill and worked at home on Longbeach Road. Monte loved the outdoors, picking mushrooms and huckleberries and hauling loads of firewood. He spent many years snowmobiling, four wheeling in the back country, and hiking into mountain lakes.
He was pre-deceased by his mother in 2000 and his father in 2008. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Diane, daughter Lorrie (Barry) of Nelson, sons Adam and Matthew of Kelowna, sister Michelle (Jim) of Alberta, nieces, nephews, cousins, and his good boy Smokey.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no service.
