Richard George Vosburgh

May 25, 1948 - June 23, 2016

Obituary of Richard George Vosburgh

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard George Vosburgh on June 23, 2016 at 4:57 pm.  He is survived by his childhood love, Heather of 53 years of marriage, sons (Jason, George, Tyson) and (daughter Bonnie), two daughters in law (Rochelle, Lisa), son in law (Brian) plus 8 grandchildren (Calvin, Katelyn, Patience, Jacob, Arden, Emma, Caidence and Adali) and his brother Don and his sisters Pat and Cheryl.

Richard was a proud father and grandfather that was the pillar, an anchor, a savior and our best friend.  He gave us guidance, strength, knowledge of life and was considered a wise man, very giving, optimistic, happy, thoughtful and considerate.

Richard was the glue that bonded everyone together.  Richard and Heather grew up together in Bolten Center, Quebec , where they fell in love.  They were each other’s rock, pillars, strength and guidance.  He had a love of birds and could never sit idle.  Always awake at the crack of dawn, he was an independent man that built or repaired everything we had or needed, ignoring the aches and pains of labour with a smile, happy face and positive attitude.

Richard was a hardworking man that always provided for his family.  In his spare time he loved to go to auctions .Camping was a favorite as he loved the outdoors.  He had the gift of the gab and loved to talk to everyone, taking time to share his experience plus his knowledge.  Richard loved to entertain people with stories and humour.  He was a loving husband and friend that was the wind beneath our wings.  He will be sadly missed.  At the request of Richard there will be no service.

When I first heard Richard was rushed to the hospital, I made many wishes hoping he would pull thru. It’s a sad moment of life and I’ve been thinking about you all and hoping you all pull thru this. Richard is also big part of my life’s memories going all the way back to Bolton. Richard met Dad in ’64 and helped him cutting hauling trees for firewood and was in a very short time hanging out in our living room. He was instantly part of our family. Thru the years Richard was always very entertaining and was always there willing to give a helping hand.

I was so sorry to hear of Richard’s passing.
It was always so nice to see the 2 of you either at BC Tel as my customers or just a meeting at the mall.
Sincerely….. Marge

Relation: My dad

I remember my dad as a truck driver, furniture mover that would take me along for a day’s work. I would sit in the back window of the truck. We would go for breakfast with all of his friends, laugh and joke. When we got home he was a farmer. My dad loved animals and to farm. On weekends we would visit family and talk about past times. I love you dad.
