Tribute

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Dad, Volker Heinz Munz of Nelson, BC, on March 28, 2022 at the age of 72.

Volker was a brilliant artistic person whose greatest passion was his writing.  He loved painting and sketching as well as playing and listening to music.  He was truly moved by the arts.

Volker was born in Germany and migrated to Canada with his family when he was 10 years old.  That is when he met his longest dearest friend, Neils, who the family send s a very special Thank You to for standing by and being of a huge support to our Dad over his lifetime.

Volker is survived by his 4 children, 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and many family and friends.  Volker is pre-deceased by his parents, Heinz and Gerturde Munz, and his infant great granddaughter, Vera.

Volker will be laid to rest in Dumont Creek Cemetery.  A celebration of life to be held in the summer of 2022.

“oh blessed me, to at last be as free as thee proverbial snowbird, of which Anne Murray so blissfully sang a couple of decades ago… and rest assured that naught a day goes ‘bye’ when, in a flutterbye fashion, eye don’t gingerly hug and kiss you all for the ‘light’ you have brought into my life with presence and genteelBE-ingneese….Loves you all; even the ‘goys’ who have blessed me with their friendships and camaraderie….it’s bin a slice, whether ‘laden’ or naught…
